What if you could get a glimpse of your future through Facebook?  Sounds pretty cool, right?  Then imagine seeing that future while you’re a teenager—even better! Now here’s the real kicker: imagine this is all happening in 1996, when the Internet came through a phone line, and less than half of all American high school students have ever used it. Authors Jay Asher (Thirteen Reasons Why) and Carolyn Mackler (Tangled, The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things, and more) took this very idea and turned it into a completely absorbing young adult novel called The Future of Us.

Jay and Carolyn came to Seattle recently and we caught up with them here at the Amazon offices, where we asked about working together (clearly, they had a lot of fun), writing a dual narrative for The Future of Us, and what they would have liked to know about their adult lives back when they were in high school—you can check out the video interview below or here, where you’ll find more about The Future of Us. —Seira
